If you were born with ovaries and a uterus and you have anxiety, depression, ADHD or any other mental health problem, I want you to know that your symptoms are very likely caused by a hormone imbalance. We know that at least 80% of women suffer from some type of hormonal imbalance, and this almost always causes mental health problems.
I suffered for most of my life with disabling period pain, bloating, irritability, anxiety and many other symptoms. Since most of the other women in my life also suffered, I just assumed that this was normal. I saw many doctors for my symptoms and not a single one of them ever told me that my issues were hormonal. I was misdiagnosed, dismissed and taking many different medications. Eventually, after I experienced a ruptured ovarian cyst, I was diagnosed with stage IV endometriosis and told that I would need a full hysterectomy and never have children.
Thankfully, I didn’t listen to those doctors and went on to have surgery to remove my endometriosis. This helped but eventually the symptoms returned. Through my own research and experimentation, I discovered holistic medicine and radically changed my life. I was eventually able to conceive two perfectly healthy children and now have zero symptoms, take zero medications and I embrace my period instead of dreading it.
My story is not unique. Menstrual problems are now extremely common and rising every day. In the US, up to 90% of women have premenstrual discomfort and at least 40% have PMS. At least 1 in 10 women have endometriosis, 12% or more have PCOS and 20% of young girls miss school due to period pain.
All of these problems have one thing in common. They are all caused by hormonal imbalances. These imbalances also cause many mental health symptoms including anxiety, irritability, depression, poor focus and attention, insomnia and mood swings.
Women are going to their doctors complaining of these symptoms and being prescribed psychiatric medications and birth control pills. The problem is that these medications not do NOT treat the hormone imbalance that is the real cause, and they actually make all of the symptoms much worse in the longterm. These medications are endocrine disruptors, which means that actually further worsen the original hormone imbalance!
Here comes the good news! Hormone imbalances are 100% treatable with a root cause/holistic approach. Most women do not need any prescription medications to correct the imbalances. I used this approach to heal my own hormones and have used it with many of my patients as well.
I am ecstatic to announce that I created an online course, The Period Cure, in order to provide this very needed information to every woman who is suffering! Hi , I have experienced severe pain and mood swings since early teens. I tried to get pregnant and it didn’t happen. I am almost 68 now, have had a complete hysterectomy removing everything and was told that because of extensive endometriosis and scarring I could never have conceived. I have been on numerous meds over the years and all but ignored by many doctors. I have been on different antidepressants for at least 30 years. I have tried several times to go off them gradually but depression returned full blast. Is there any way to change this?
Yes!! We actually have an online course designed for helping people to heal from endometriosis called the Period Cure. It’s still applicable even though you’re post-menopausal. https://fellowship.freerange.org/the-period-cure. We also offer individual support, if interested.
